Winston Churchill was renowned for his appetite for scotch malt whiskey. He is reported to have ordered a glass with breakfast, daily. He is also known for not giving up in the face of adversity – a quality I truly admire; enough to name one of my sons in his honour. In this chocolate, I have marinated a dried grape in a fine malt whiskey for several days and wrapped it in a dark ganache and shell. A proud and noble combination, befitting the man himself.
